Nuestra Señora de Coromoto

Una advocación de Venezuela para el mundo.

Our Lady of Coromoto, Patroness of Venezuela, renew the faith in all the extension of our Nation.

Amen

Invocation written by Brother Nectarius Mary in June 1922, belonging to the first group of religious of the Congregation of the Brothers of the Christian Schools founded by Saint John Baptist La Salle.

Our Lady of Coromoto’s apparition is unique and very important because:

The relic that the Virgin left to the native chief (“Cacique”) Coromoto comes directly from heaven. It is not an engraving or made by human hands.

  • It is the first apparition of the Virgin to a family.

  • It is one of the few apparitions whose dedication has the name of the seer and in this case, it is a masculine name: Coromoto.

  • There are only two cases in the world in which the Virgin leaves a relic: Guadalupe, Mexico in 1531 and Coromoto, Venezuela in 1652.

  • The relic in Guadalupe is a macro: 1.70 x 1.05 cm

  • The relic in Coromoto is a micro: 2.43 x 1.94 cm

These butterflies appeared for the first time when the Virgin of Coromoto appeared to the Indian Cacique and we have seen them again which makes us immensely happy since it is a great sign of hope.

This type of butterfly was first seen when the Virgin appeared to Cacique Coromoto and his family.      They are numbered 8 and 9. The eight signifies the day of her appearance and the nine the month in which she appeared: September.
